WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

"Bonnie immediately put me at ease, creating an empathetic environment where I felt supported yet challenged. She always listened carefully and responded to me with unbiased feedback. I left our series of sessions with a clearer image of myself, my goals, and the new path I was planning to build going forward. Hi There!

You might be wondering how my business came to be. Why did I become a coach? How do I know about the culture of Architecture and why do I care?

Throughout my 14 year career in Architecture I had many amazing successes and proud moments, but I also had many periods of intense stress, uncertainty about where to take my career and a strong desire for work to feel more fulfilling. While looking for ways to not only survive, but actually thrive in my career I learned 3 key lessons:

  1. Our experiences at work have a profound impact on our overall quality of life.

  2. To find a fulfilling career we need to know ourselves well and embrace our strengths.

  3. And knowing ourselves is not enough. A company's culture directly effects our ability to show up, grow and continually perform at our best.

These 3 learnings are the inspiration and mission behind Bonnie Volk Coaching + Consulting. After years of self discovery and education I have found work that is rooted in my natural strengths and focused on a goal with a lot of meaning for me: improving people's experience at work so that they can lead more productive and fulfilling lives.

And this goal is not simply to make people happy or because I want world peace (which I do). This goal matters because we are facing an unprecedented number of global challenges and we need everyone contributing their best to help our industries adapt. For the profession of Architecture, I see a more sustainable future being achieved in 3 ways:

  1. By individuals: discovering their unique potential and using their strengths to bring about a more meaningful future for themselves and therefore the profession.

  2. By firm leaders: updating practices on how to lead, manage and engage in the work so that everyone working in the profession can sustain themselves and their performance day in and day out.

  3. By the whole profession: reexamining the role Architects play and the value they provide to society in order to improve the economic future of the profession.

A more sustainable way of working and living does exist. With coaching and consulting I aim to empower authentic leadership for professionals building their careers in Architecture and organizations who want to lead the way toward a more sustainable future. Change starts with you. Let's do this!
